Typical Rendering of Dwelling Entry in 1860 Census
The above pages are taken from Volume 5 of Shenandoah County, VIRGINIA - A Study of the 1860 Census with Supplemental Data by Marvin J. Vann. This particular volume devotes 397 pages to the coverage of 192 dwellings; or, about two pages per census dwelling. For this web page, the actual census data has been colored and the text supplied by Mr. Vann left black -- of course the printed opus is entirely black ink.
The geneaological resources, including data and accompanying search engine, along with any family reunion and other photographs are maintained by Paul Stoneburner and hosted by Wizard Workshop and Company.
